Bicyclist dies after being struck on Florida Boulevard Tuesday night
BATON ROUGE - Authorities say a bicyclist has died after being struck by a vehicle on Florida Boulevard Tuesday evening.
The incident was reported Tuesday around 6:20 p.m. on Florida near Ponderosa. Police say that both the cyclist and the 71-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Traverse were traveling eastbound when the bicyclist was struck by the Chevrolet.
The bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
On Wednesday, police reported that 54-year-old Steven Walter Neal succumbed to his injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
