LIVINGSTON - A 911 call details a horrific attack that rocked the Walker community in Livingston Parish nearly three years ago.

Jeffrey Reynolds took a plea deal for a 20-year sentence Thursday after he brutally attacked his wife Paula in October 2012. For the most part, you can't make out what Reynolds is saying on the phone during the attack. At other times, the 25 minute call to the 9-1-1 call center is graphic.

Reynolds starts the call off by stating his address and that the call is not a prank. He seems calm and polite to the operator. Then Reynolds' conversation doesn't make sense as he tries to explain how he's intoxicated by synthetic marijuana.

"I need the cops to get here as soon as possible," he says. "I didn't do anything. I just feel like I smoked something that called 911."

While still on the phone outside his Walker home Reynolds did not seem upset, and there was no indication of what was about to happen. The operator asks Reynolds if he has any weapons. The six-foot-eight-inch man replies "no ma'am...absolutely not."

However, things took a violent turn when Reynolds walked inside the home. Reynolds begins shouting at his wife saying let's see it, referring to the couple's unborn child. Investigators say Reynolds attacked his wife Paula with a paring knife cutting her throat, chest and stomach before removing the baby.

As the operator pleads for Reynolds to return to the phone call, Paula screams "I'm dying. I'm dying." in the background. She later asks Reynolds to "please stop." Reynolds replies asking his wife why she's still alive. The rest of the call is hard to make out. Later you can hear emergency responders trying to save Paula and the baby.

Paula survived the attack but the baby did not make it. Reynolds has stuck to his story all along saying that the drugs made him do it.
