41 people indicted in sweeping drug, weapons investigation in capital area
BATON ROUGE – Forty-one people have been indicted in what federal authorities described as the area's largest, single takedown of drug runners and illegal arms dealers in the capital region.
The charges are related to a large drug operation, authorities said, and focused heavily on drug trafficking and the weapons criminals use to protect their illicit empire.
Spearheaded by the federal Middle District of Louisiana's drug task force, agents had help from local authorities.
In addition to collecting drugs, officials also seized luxury vehicles and over $1 million USD in drug profits @WBRZ— Johnston vonSpringer (@johnstonvon) March 6, 2018
