Hope Ministries poverty workshop
BATON ROUGE- Hope Ministries is a local non-profit organization that helps people born into poverty. The group has two priorities, meeting people's basic needs, and helping them move forward and create a self-sustainable livelihood.
The group is offering a professional development workshop on today for anyone that deals with people in poverty. The workshop helps inform people about what it's like being impoverished, so they can better deal with the impoverished.
The workshop focuses on two aspects of poverty. The first focus is learned behaviors and understanding why people in poverty act the way they do. The second is the resources that people in poverty need.
The workshop will be held today at 9 a.m. at the United Way on Laurel St. It's $150 to attend. For more information on Hope Ministries you can visit their website or call 225-355-0702.
