Road closures remain in effect in Ascension due to flooding

DONALDSONVILLE - Heavy downpours throughout Thursday resulted in flooding throughout Ascension Parish that has led to the closure of several roadways.

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, the following roads were closed as of 1 p.m.:

Evangeline Drive
St Patrick Overpass
Hwy 1 S Overpass
Iberville/Mississippi
Marchand/Railroad
Marchand/Lafourche
St Vincent/Opelousas
Church/Clay
Myrtle Grove
Mississippi/St Patrick
St Jude Subdivision
Catalpa/Riverview Complex
St Patrick/Williams
Darrow area
Keith St in St Patrick St area
East side of Marchand School Rd
Brown St off of Hwy 22
Jenkins Rd off of Hwy 22
Walter Hill off of Hwy 22
Hwy 18/Church
Astroland Subdivision
Gonzales area
The Greens at Pelican Point
Johnathan Alaric in Pelican Point
Sorrento area
Raymond Tullier off of Hwy 70
Roads that have water but are passable
Hwy 942/Houmas Plantation Ct
River Rd at Ormet

The Sunshine Bridge and Hwy 70 are back open after they were closed earlier due to a fire at the Motiva refinery in Convent.
