Overnight police pursuit ends on Highland Road, near Burbank
BATON ROUGE - A police pursuit that occurred early Tuesday morning in the Highland Road-Burbank area ended in an arrest, authorities say.
According to representatives with the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD), it was nearly 11 p.m. when officers were notified that a man who was in the parking lot of a Circle K on Highland Road and Starring Lane was allegedly flashing a gun.
Police went to the area to investigate and came in contact with a man named Henry Tillotson.
According to police, Tillotson fled the scene in a vehicle, but his automobile got stuck in the 4700 block of Higland Road.
Tillotson did not give up at this point, but fled on foot into a nearby wooded area, behind a cluster of apartments on Burbank Drive, officers say.
Authorities launched BRPD’s Air One (Helicopter Unit) as well as a BRPD K9 Unit, and with this assistance, they were able to apprehend Tillotson.
Police say they found him hiding in a canal.
Tillotson was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with Resisting an Officer, Aggravated Flight, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Schedule I Narcotic and as a Fugitive of EBRSO.
