More charges for Louisiana gymnastics coach
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Sheriff's deputies in Louisiana say a former gymnastics coach faces 11 new charges of sex abuse.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office said Monday that 26-year-old Jonathan West faces the charges from four new victims. West faces dozens of charges in St. Charles and Jefferson parishes where he is accused of molesting boys between the ages of 10 and 15.
He had coached at Flipnastics, a gymnastics facility in Luling, and The New Orleans Outlaws, a cheerleading and gymnastics training academy in Kenner. The latest charges in St. Charles Parish include sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, indecent behavior with a juvenile and misdemeanor sexual battery.
Authorities say West told the boys he could help them flip better if they allowed him to touch them.
