Man arrested for child pornography facing new charge
BATON ROUGE- A man who is currently facing hundreds of counts of pornography involving juveniles is now facing a new charge.
Steven Everhardt, 51, is now facing a charge of indecent behavior with juveniles.
Everhardt was arrested April 2 for 900 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles and 30 counts of distribution of pornography involving juveniles.
On April 18, a victim spoke with authorities in reference to an incident that took place in 2013. The victim said she was a friend of Everhardt's daughter and was at the house for a sleepover.
The victim was 16 at the time of the incident.
According to the affidavit, the victim was sleeping on the sofa in the living room when she was awakened by the sound of a man touching himself. When she turned over, she saw Everhardt without pants on.
Once Everhardt noticed she was awake, he dropped to his knees and told the victim he was "just checking on her." She told Everhardt that she was fine and later hid in the bathroom to get away from him.
The victim informed Everhardt's wife and daughter about what happened and they asked her not to tell anyone, according to the arrest report.
