Iberville Parish Jail to close for two month renovation
PLAQUEMINE - The Iberville Parish Jail will close for a two month renovation of the facility's air conditioning system.
According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, the HVAC swap will begin on Friday, August 18.
Male inmates will be transferred to two state correctional facilities. Those who were arrested will be sent to the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail where they will be bonded out or transferred if they cannot post bond.
"There is no way to maintain a safe jail environment with this work going on," Stassi said. "This is a complex operation, but is necessary to keep everyone safe."
