Report: Ben Simmons to hire agent, declare for NBA draft
BATON ROUGE - LSU's Ben Simmons will hire an agent and declare for the NBA draft, ESPN.com reported Monday morning.
"I'm making it official," ESPN reported Simmons said Sunday.
Simmons, a freshman, averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this past season for the Tigers. But the 6-foot-10 Simmons and his squad failed to make the NCAA tournament and LSU declined to play in the NIT.
Simmons, who started playing at LSU as the best freshman in the country, is expected to be taken either first or second in the June 23 NBA draft, ESPN reported.
