President Joe Biden is visiting Louisiana Friday to survey storm damage from Hurricane Ida.

Stream his remarks live below.

Senator Bill Cassidy expressed appreciation for the President's upcoming visit saying, “We thank President Biden for coming down to help him understand the magnitude of the situation here in southeast Louisiana. We know from bitter experience with Hurricane Laura that aid can be delayed too long.”

Senator Cassidy continued, “We thank the federal partners who are already here helping with the recovery, and we will ask the President once again that supplemental aid be delivered to southwest Louisiana and expedited for southeast Louisiana.”

A statement from the White House confirmed that Mr. Biden will be in Louisiana for six hours starting at noon.

The President's tour will begin in New Orleans where he will assess damage from Hurricane Ida and then move to St. John the Baptist Parish for a briefing from state leaders.

After this, President Biden will take an aerial tour of impacted communities such as Laffite, Grand Isle, Port Fourchon, and Lafourche Parish.

Next on his itinerary is a private meeting with local leaders from impacted communities in Galliano.

In the evening, the President will depart from the New Orleans International Airport.
