Prairieville man arrested for burglarizing 21 storage units
ASCENSION PARISH – Deputies say a man accused of burglarizing 21 storage units located on Highway 621 in Ascension Parish has been arrested.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 35-year-old Matthew Starns on 21 counts of simple burglary, possession of marijuana, felony theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without insurance.
According to the sheriff's office, a total of 21 storage units were burglarized over the course of five days at 621 Plaza Mini Storage. Detectives obtained surveillance video that showed a vehicle and suspect, later linked back to Starns.
Detectives located Starns at a nearby convenience store on Mar. 2. Detectives searched his vehicle and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. It was also discovered that Starns was driving without car insurance.
Starns was arrested on the above charges.
