Police cruiser involved in crash on Florida Blvd at Sherwood; 2 injured

BATON ROUGE- Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle wreck involving a Baton Rouge police cruiser early Thursday morning.

According to Baton Rouge EMS, two people were transported to the hospital with uknown injuries.

The crash happened on Florida Boulevard at Sherwood Forest Boulevard around 6 a.m. At least four vehicles were involved in the wreck. WBRZ News 2 was on the scene when authorities pulled one person out of a vehicle. BRPD says the officer was on his way to an incident at McDonald's when the crash happened.

According to DOTD, all lanes are back open. Congestion from the incident is reaching back to North Little John Drive on Florida Boulevard westbound.
