OMV locations to open this Saturday so customers can clear records
BATON ROUGE - The Office of Motor Vehicles announced extended hours at locations throughout the state Thursday afternoon.
Locally, the OMV office at 7701 Independence Blvd in Baton Rouge will remain open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 31. The additional hours are a measure the OMV is employing to help the office get its customers through insurance cancellations, but employees will be available to assist with all routine transactions.
OMV Call Center hours will also be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and they will remain open on weeknights until 8 p.m. to help customers via telephone
The OMV says they will continue to work diligently with every customer to clear their record.
The extended hours come after the OMV was slammed with complaints after the office issued collection letters in an attempt at clearing driving records. Many customers complained that the insurance coverage fines were a cash grab by a financially strained agency.
