BATON ROUGE - Seven new officers graduated from the BRPD 9th Post Academy Friday.

Officials said the officers came from other agencies in the surrounding area and were previously Peace Officer Standards and Training, or POST, certified.

The new BRPD officers went through a six-week academy. They will begin another six-week training phase with a field training officer.
