Mexican national arrested at Alvin Dark apartment for possession of child pornography
BATON ROUGE - An undercover operation by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney General’s Office led to the arrest of a Mexican national accused of possessing child pornography Wednesday.
62-year-old Samuel Sanchez was booked on one count of possession of pornography involving juveniles.
Investigators searched Sanchez’ apartment, located in the 4600 block of Alvin Dark Avenue, Wednesday morning and located a video of a girl aged between of 9 and 13 engaged in sexual activity with an adult male on Sanchez’ laptop computer.
In an interview that was conducted in Spanish with the aid of interpreter, Sanchez admitted to detectives that he had downloaded the video onto his laptop and was the only person that knew about it. Sanchez is in the country legally with a Mexican passport.
Investigators say additional charges may be pending as a full forensics analysis of the laptop is scheduled to be conducted.
