BATON ROUGE - Sentencing has been delayed on Thursday for a man convicted of killing five people during an alcohol and road rage-fueled high speed chase in 2011.

The sentencing was delayed until Aug. 18.

34-year-old David Leger was scheduled to be sentenced for five counts of vehicular homicide for his involvement in what investigators called a high-speed game of cat and mouse on Interstate 10. He could face 30 years for each count, meaning Leger could be behind bars for up to 150 years.

Leger was convicted of the charges in 2014 after the court found him guilty of negligence in the crash at the end of his chase with another driver, Kelsye Hall. Hall was convicted by a jury for negligent homicide in 2013 for her part in that fiery crash.

The crash happened on Mar. 13, 2011 on I-10 West between Baton Rouge and Prairieville when Leger's pickup truck spun out of control, crossed the median and crashed head on into a car driven by Effie Fontenot.
