BRFD: Arson cause of large vacant house fire on Laurel Street
BATON ROUGE - Firefighters with the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a large vacant house fire on the corner of Laurel Street and 8th Street on Saturday night.
Crews were called to the scene just after 8:00 p.m. on Laurel Street, across the street from the Federal Courthouse. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the house fully engulfed in flames with fire coming from the roof of the house.
The cause of the fire was determined to be arson, according to BRFD. It took firefighters around 45 minutes to control the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
