WATCH LIVE: Mayor Broome to announce plans for proposed transportation tax
BATON ROUGE – Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced that she will reveal plans for a proposed 5-mil property tax to fund better transportation for roads in Baton Rouge, her office announced on Thursday.
The proposal for the tax to go on voters' ballots in November will go before the Metro Council on Wednesday, July 26.
Other issues that will be discussed are public safety, flood recovery and HIV/AIDS prevention.
Broome will hold a press conference to detail her plans on Monday, July 24 at 10 a.m.
