18-year-old dies after being shot inside vehicle near high school Monday
BATON ROUGE - Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old who was killed Monday afternoon.
Police say Tequrrian Baptiste was shot while behind the wheel of a vehicle at the intersection of Winbourne Ave and North 38th Street, just off the Istrouma High campus. The shooting occurred around 3:50 p.m. when he and his 21-year-old passenger were stopped at a traffic light.
Both Baptiste and his passenger were rushed to a local hospital for gunshot injuries.
Baptiste was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The passenger in the vehicle is in critical condition.
In a Tuesday morning press release, police said a motive and suspect(s) have yet to be found.
