BATON ROUGE- Local actors are getting ready to perform some classic plays with a Cajun twist. John Schneider Studios will be hosting "Shakespeare in the Swamp" at the end of the month.

This morning one of the show's lead actors, Chasen Schneider, and producer, Alicia Allain, stopped by 2une In to tell us more about the upcoming production.

Chasen is the son of television and film actor, John Schneider, who is best known for his role as Bo Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard." He's played roles in a few movies that have been shot at John Schneider Studios.

"Shakespeare in the Swamp" will also give up-and-coming actors a chance to get their name out there. Actors and Actresses will be allowed to drop off their headshots and resumes at the casting table. The information will be reviewed by Schneider and his talent team and they will contact people they're interested in working with.

Audience members are encouraged to dress up in Shakespeare-themed attire. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the show.

"Shakespeare in the Swamp" will be preformed on August 27th, 28th and 29th. Gates open at 5 p.m. Each evening and the shows will go from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is being held at John Schneider Studios in Holden, Louisiana.

You can purchase tickets for the event through EventBrite.
