Police identify pedestrian killed in Ascension Parish crash Monday
SORRENTO — State police have identified a pedestrian killed in an Ascension Parish crash earlier this week.
Justin Green, 34, was killed in the crash just after midnight Monday on LA 22 near LA 936.
Police say Green was walking near the center line of the highway when a pick-up truck traveling northbound struck him. Green was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, sustained minor injuries.
Police say impairment is unknown at this time, but toxicology samples were taken from both the pedestrian and the driver.
Authorities are still investigating this crash.
