CENTRAL – Perhaps the most shocking local election result Tuesday was the upset in Central where incumbent “Jr” Shelton was ousted from office.

“Be careful who your friends are because they can turn on you in a second,” Shelton quipped in his only live television appearance Tuesday night. Shelton was interviewed by WBRZ reporter Mark Armstrong live during the station’s extensive election coverage featured on News 2 at 10:00.

Shelton was defeated by David Barrow who garnered 52% of the vote – about 6,500 votes compared to Shelton’s 27% or 3,300.
