STARKVILLE, MS.- After a record football season in 2014, Mississippi State plans to begin 2015 in the same fashion.

MSU plans to set a Guinness World Record for most cowbells rung at the same time on Sept. 10 during Cowbell Yell.

The event acts as a pep rally to Mississippi State's first home game of the season on Sept. 12 against LSU.

The announcement came in a YouTube video promoting Bulldog Bash 2015. MSU football coach Dan Mullen narrated the video and said the school expects 15,000 fans to attend Cowbell Yell at Davis Wade Stadium.

That total would obliterate the current record.

According to Guinness, the largest cowbell ensemble was 640 people on Sept. 6, 2009 in Switzerland.
