Jags lose 4 football staffers Wednesday
BATON ROUGE – Three assistant coaches and a coordinator all departed the Southern University football program Wednesday.
The most recent was Chad Germany, a coordinator, who resigned. The other three left after being terminated, sources confirmed to the WBRZ Sports Department.
Coaches Lorick Atkinson, Myron Jackson and Chris Scott were fired.
Sources speculate the post-season changes are being made to fund a defensive coordinator, freeing head coach Dawson Odums from also handling those duties.
Southern's football season ended with a loss to Grambling at the Bayou Classic Saturday at the Superdome.
