Firefighters respond to Baton Rouge hotel fire

BATON ROUGE - Firefighters with the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a fire at a Baton Rouge hotel Sunday morning.

According to BRFD, the fire was located on the outside of the Crossland Hotel located in the 11140 block of Boardwalk Drive. Fire was reportedly seen in the rear staircase of the building.

The fire was allegedly started by someone setting some clothes on fire in an exterior stairway. It was contained to the outside of the building.

The fire caused approximately $50,000 in damages, according to BRFD. Fire investigators were also called to the scene. 

No one was injured as a result of the fire, and no arrests have been made, according to BRFD.
