Emergency responders battling refinery fire

KROTZ SPRINGS - Firefighters are still working to extinguish a refinery fire which broke out this morning in Krotz Springs.

It happened at the Alon Refinery off Hwy. 190 around 8:15 a.m.

A refinery spokesperson said firefighters got the flames under control within 20 minutes, but are still working to fully extinguish the fire.

The plant produces gas and diesel. There are no injuries, and investigators don't know what caused the fire yet.

News 2 crews are headed to the scene and will have more information starting at noon.
