Dodging showers again, then drier pattern will take place

3 years 9 months 2 weeks ago Friday, May 29 2020 May 29, 2020 May 29, 2020 5:25 AM May 29, 2020 in Weather

Today and Tonight:

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible again today, mainly during the late morning and early afternoon hours. Once again, not everyone will have rain in their backyard. Coverage across the area will be around 30%. Highs today will be in the upper 80s. Tonight, any showers will have diminished and we’ll be left with partly cloudy skies into the overnight hours. Lows will be in the upper 60s.

The Explanation:

A cold front passing through the area will continue to allow for enough moisture to filter into south Louisiana, sparking off a few showers and thunderstorms today. As this front tracks to the east throughout the day, drier air will then take place and will set us up for a calmer pattern for the weekend and into early next week. With that being said, it also means our temperatures will steadily climb back into the 90s by Monday. A ridge of high pressure will take hold over the Deep South through at least through Tuesday continuing a trend of sunshine and higher temperatures.
