Coast Guard makes rescue as fishing vessel sinks
MORGAN CITY - Three people were rescued from a 75-foot fishing vessel that sank just off the coast of Louisiana Monday.
The Coast Guard said a passing helicopter reported seeing the vessel sinking with two life-rafts in the water. Crews from stations in Morgan City and New Orleans were dispatched and rescued.
The USCG released pictures taken during the rescue effort.
The people on board the sinking vessel were taken to Morgan City. The cause of the incident is under investigation, the Guard said in a news release.
