Bones found near Iberville grocery store
ST. GABRIEL – Deputies say they believe they found human remains behind a grocery store in St. Gabriel.
According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, deputies found what appears to be human remains behind Wayne’s Groceries off Highway 75 in St. Gabriel.
Stassi said the bones could be from people who committed suicide by jumping from a bridge into the Mississippi River. The bones appear to be old.
Detectives are currently treating the investigation as a homicide, Stassi said.
