Ascension, Livingston will open waterways Friday
PORT VINCENT – Waterways in Ascension and Livingston parishes will reopen to recreational boaters Friday.
On April 16, both parishes closed waterways due to high water. The closed areas will open at 6 a.m. Friday, parishes said in a news release.
For business owners who count on boaters, closed waterways mean a loss of thousands of dollars.
"I 100 percent understand that it's people homes and property. With this high water boaters go up and down and put those wakes out. That's much more important," said Fred's on the River owner David Roshto.
Saturday and Sunday will be perfect for boating. Click HERE for the forecast.
