WATCH: Coast Guard rescues stranded, injured boaters
HOUSTON - The Coast Guard shared video of a seven-minute rescue where two men on a pleasure boat needed help after they crashed into what appears to be concrete jetty Monday morning.
One of the men was thrown off the boat and both were injured. One had a broken arm and the other had a broken leg.
A nearby fishermen heard the crash and alerted authorities.
"This is a prime example that if you see something happen, report it. The two good Samaritans were vital in assisting and reporting," said Petty Officer 2nd Class Kathryn Carlin, who assisted in the rescues from Station Galveston. "If they hadn't reported it, we would have never known."
Watch the attached video for clips of the rescue.
