ST. AMANT - State Police are investigating a deadly crash in Ascension Parish Sunday night.
According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened on La. Hwy. 429 east of La. Hwy. 431 near St Amant shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday. State Police say that Tyler Talber, 29, was killed in the wreck. Authorities say Talbert, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from his vehicle after crashing into a utility pole.
State Police confirmed that only Talbert's pickup truck involved in the wreck. Rescue workers worked to free the victim's body for over two hours.
Authorities said that an unidentified passenger also suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital.
Investigators took a toxicology sample from Talbert to find out if impairment played a role in the crash.
