Suspect allegedly killed man, shot woman in neighborhood off Plank Road
BATON ROUGE - Police have made an arrest in a deadly double shooting in a neighborhood between Plank Road and N Acadian Thruway.
The fatal incident was reported around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon on Fairfields Avenue. According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office, 29-year-old Gary Fielding was shot multiple times, which resulted in his death.
Authorities say a woman was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Baton Rouge Police Department announced Tuesday that Trenton Taplin, 23, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
No other details about the crime were immediately available.
