Report: LSU's Alex Box the best place for baseball
BATON ROUGE - Alex Box is the best place to catch collegiate baseball, but it's not the only ranking stadium in Louisiana.
Scout.com recently ranked the top 50 - posting editors visited "and reviewed almost every ballpark in Division I college baseball" to compile the list. The team found LSU has the best but SLU, UL and Tulane join the Tigers on the best of selection.
Selections were made by rating concessions, atmosphere, neighborhood, fans, access, return on investment, and extras. The combined average score is based on a five star system.
The Box was labeled "The Mecca of American College Baseball" with 4.7 stars.
"Fans of college baseball would be wise to make the pilgrimage to Baton Rouge part of their ballpark bucket list," the website posted.
UL's M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field ranked 21st. Southeastern's Pat Kenelly Diamond ranked 35th and Tulane's Greer Field at Turchin Stadium was ranked 36th.
