BATON ROUGE - BRPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 3100 block of Pampas Street, off Plank Road Near Mohican just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a police spokesperson, preliminary reports indicate a man was shot in the leg, and the injuries are considered non-life threatening. Sources confirm the victim was transported to the hospital.

According to witnesses on scene, the shooting occurred at an apartment complex on Pampas Street, then the victim ran to a convenience store on Plank Road for help.
