LSU Baseball taking applications for 2016 Batgirls
Baton Rouge - Applications for the 2016 LSU Bat Girls squad are live online, and they’ll be accepted for consideration into next month.
The deadline for applying for the position is Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m. The application is available at www.lsusports.net/batgirls.
After an initial screening, select candidates will be asked to participate in an interview on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. The final selections will be posted online at the above URL.
The LSU Bat Girls work as bat handlers for all LSU home baseball games with members serving as ambassadors for fans at Alex Box Stadium. Their duties consist of recovering foul balls, retrieving bats and helmets, answering fan questions, selling gameday programs, assisting with gameday promotions and giveaways and assisting umpires. LSU Athletics says they’re expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner both on and off the diamond.

The positions are open to any LSU full time student with at least a 2.75 grade point average. Each year, 30 members are selected to roster the organization with a squad of 10 girls helping out at the stadium each game.
