BATON ROUGE - Police are looking for some bandits who made off with a slew of rides - golf cars.
Between Monday night and Tuesday morning, almost a dozen carts were stolen from City Park Golf Course.  Police were able to recover five Thursday, but some had been vandalized.  The other carts are still missing.
"This is the first time in history that something like this has happened at City Park Golf Course," a BREC spokesperson said.  BREC operates the golf course.
Witnesses said they saw teenagers driving them around their neighborhood late at night.  Police have not identified who is responsible.
"I heard it was kids and said, 'It sounds so organized,'" a golfer said, shocked about the heist.
Golfers might think it's a lighter crime spree, but authorities and BREC agree it's serious.  The culprits will be prosecuted when found.  Because of the value of the carts, charges would likely be filed as felonies.
