WALKER - A man walking down I-12 allegedly stabbed a good Samaritan who agreed to give him a ride and then stole his truck.

Livingston Parish deputies arrested another individual Friday for her suspected involvement in Wednesday's crime.

Rebecca Hebert, 56, was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on charges of accessory after the fact of attempted first-degree murder, accessory after the fact of carjacking, and obstruction of justice.

"Through investigation, we learned Hebert assisted suspect Alex Bradley with discarding of evidence & traveling outside of Livingston Parish," Sheriff Jason Ard announced on social media Friday.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies found the victim, who appeared to have multiple stab wounds, around 5 p.m. along I-12 between Walker and Satsuma. A correctional supervisor was heading home from work when she saw the man in distress along the interstate and stopped to investigate, according to the department.

The sheriff's office said the victim's truck was stopped along the interstate when the attacker approached him on foot and asked for a ride. Not long after the truck got back on the road, the hitchhiker, identified as 29-year-old Alex Bradley, allegedly attacked.

The motive for the attack is still unclear.

Bradley was booked for attempted first-degree murder, carjacking and an unrelated charge of theft of a motor vehicle. He is currently being held on a $325,000 bond.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but has since been released.
