Arrest made in boat ramp stabbing
PLAQUEMINE - Authorities in St. Landry Parish arrested a man accused of stabbing a woman in the neck at a Plaquemine boat launch Monday.
Officials said Travis Howell was stopped at a roadblock and arrested.
Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi told News 2 they believe Howell stabbed the woman at a boat landing on Bayou Road around 2 p.m. A witness took the woman to a nearby meat market for help.
The victim was in critical condition when she was taken to the hospital, according to Stassi. He said the stabbing appears to have been part of a domestic incident between the victim and Howell.
