DENHAM SPRINGS – State Police say a teen is expected to be okay after being trapped in a car that was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Denham Springs Sunday afternoon.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash happened on LA 1024 near Clinton Allen Road around 4:12 p.m. Sunday.

First responders confirmed that two people were injured in the crash. One juvenile was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital. The teen driver was pinned inside the vehicle.

First responders also said they worked for more than three hours to remove the second victim from the vehicle.

A spokesperson for LSP did not say what caused the crash, but did say that the injuries are not life threatening.

On Monday, State Police confirmed that the teen driver of the vehicle was ticketed for careless operation in connection with the wreck. In an interview with News 2, troopers also revealed they don't believe weather conditions were a factor at this point in the investigation.
