3 teenagers arrested in murder case
HAMMMOND - Sheriff's deputies released limited information about the arrest of three teenagers Monday who are charged with murder.
Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old are charged with the shooting death of Gerrell Lee, Jr., 19. Lee was shot while riding in a car near the intersection of Rufus Bankston Road and Wardline Road west, west of the I-55 exit to Wardline, on February 9th.
Hammond-area news website ActionNews17.com posted in a previous story about the shooting that Lee was in the vehicle when the driver said he heard a popping sound and noticed Lee had been shot
Because of their ages, names of the teens arrested will not be released. They are being held at the Florida Parish Detention Center.
"The investigation is on going. Details regarding the shooting will not be released until the investigation is complete," a spokesperson for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said in a news release highlighting the arrests Monday.
