BATON ROUGE - The intersection of Highland Road and Chimes Street near LSU is closed this week for road repairs, creating detours for drivers and slowing traffic to nearby businesses.

Barista Isabella Cordoba said the closure has affected her daily routine at Highland Coffees.

BATON ROUGE — An RV is currently on fire on I-12 eastbound, right before I-55. 

Fire crews are currently responding to the fire. 

All lanes of traffic are blocked, with traffic being delayed at least one mile.

PORT ALLEN — A three-vehicle crash briefly blocked southbound lanes of Lobdell Highway near Court Street on Wednesday morning, deputies said. 

The crash was first reported around 7:15 a.m., with the road reopening by 8:25 a.m.

West Baton Rouge Parish deputies added that traffic was diverted to the center turning lane as they responded to the crash. 

Minor injuries were reported, deputies noted.

GROSSE TETE — State Police said Tuesday that an Albany man was killed when his box truck rear-ended an 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 eastbound near Grosse Tete.

WALKER — I-12 westbound is back open after a jackknifed semi-trailer blocked all lanes of traffic near Juban Road. 

The blockage was first reported around 12:24 p.m. and initially blocked the two left lanes of traffic. However, by 1 p.m., the entire roadway was blocked.

Around 2:55 p.m., the road re-opened.

GONZALES — Cabela's Parkway in Gonzales will be closed for two weeks starting Monday as work continues on three roundabouts along La. 30.
