West BR to implement traffic flow measures on LA 1 starting Monday
WEST BATON ROUGE - West Baton Rouge Parish, the City of Port Allen, the Town of Brusly and the Town of Addis in partnership with local law enforcement will implement traffic control measures starting Monday, Sept. 26.
The measures are an effort to improve traffic flow on LA 1 during peak traffic times. Measures will include but not limited to:
- Barriers on LA 1 Service Road that only allow south-bound traffic between Beaulieu Lane and Walmart
- Officer manually controlling the red light at Walmart
- Measures put in place to prohibit motorists south of the intra-coastal from crossing the intra-coastal in an effort to cross the Mississippi River Bridge ahead of other motorists
West Baton Rouge parish asks drivers to adhere to signage and barricades in an effort to improve the traffic flow and safety in the area.
