LSU student charged after sending lewd video to 15-year-old
BATON ROUGE – An LSU student faces child pornography charges after police say he recorded lewd videos in an LSU dorm and sent it to a 15-year-old via Snapchat.
According to arrest documents, the 15-year-old victim told a friend that 18-year-old Tyler Braud sent videos of himself masturbating to photos of the victim. The friend reported the incident to LSU Police on Oct. 28 after the victim shared the images.
The friend told police that the video was recorded inside an LSU dorm room. Police note that Braud is currently living in LSU student housing. The witness said the video was sent to the victim through Snapchat.
On Nov. 14, Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit met with the victim. Documents say the victim said Tyler followed her on Twitter in August and the two began messaging each other on Snapchat. The victim said she had never met Braud in person.
The victim told investigators that Braud sent her lewd messages and repeatedly asked for nude photos. When the victim asked Braud to stop messaging her, police say he then asked the victim to have sex with him. The victim then blocked Braud on her social media accounts.
Braud was arrested Thursday and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and possession of pornography involving juveniles. During an interview, documents say Braud admitted to sending the video to the victim.
During a search of Braud's phone, investigators also found a hidden app that contained folders with videos and images of a juvenile victim.
According to arrest records, Braud bonded out of jail.
