For Leah Williams, joining the WBRZ Channel 2 team in June 2026 is the homecoming she’s always dreamed of. A native of Baton Rouge, Leah’s journey into journalism began right here at Southern University. After graduation, her career took her from the desert landscapes of Albuquerque to the front lines of the Jackson water crisis in 2022, and most recently, to the streets of Memphis, Tennessee.

Throughout her travels, Leah earned a reputation for being a journalist who doesn't just report on problems but relentlessly pursues solutions. Whether she was holding officials accountable in Mississippi or uncovering community stories in Memphis, her goal has always remained the same: to be a voice for the people.

Now that she’s back in the 225, Leah is ready to dive deep into the issues affecting her hometown. When she’s off the clock, you can find her with her camera in hand, practicing mastering photography, hitting the volleyball court, or hunting down the best plate of crawfish in the city. She is thrilled to be back near family and looks forward to meeting you out in the community!
