Injured LSU kicker's family thanks fans for prayers, support
BATON ROUGE - A statement has been issued by the family of LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye after an outpouring of support by Tiger fans in the wake of a car accident that seriously injured their son and killed two others.
“Our family sincerely appreciates the outpouring of support for Colby since the accident last weekend. The number of calls, emails and text messages that we have received from people throughout the country has been overwhelming and much appreciated. Colby is in good hands with treatment to his injuries and he’s making progress with his recovery,” began the statement.
Colby took to Twitter earlier this week to make his first public statements after he was the sole survivor of a car crash in Wisconsin that took the lives of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler last Saturday.

Authorities in Wisconsin have said the vehicle, driven by Sadler, went out of control on wet pavement and ran off the road before hitting a tree. Deputies said speed appears to have played a role in that wreck, but it remains under investigation.
