CECILIA, La. - Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, a 911 call was received in reference to a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of Anse Broussard Hwy.

Upon arrival, St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies found Jason Stanley, 38, dead after an apparent stab wound. 

After an investigation, Sophia Benefield, 32, was arrested and charged with manslaughter.

She was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bond has been set at this time.
