NEW ORLEANS - "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest," the annual year-ending television special, will include a live broadcast from New Orleans in its countdown to 2017, WWL reports.

Producers announced Monday that the special will include a live remote broadcast from New Orleans in its Dec. 31 broadcast on ABC. The show will capture the fleur de lis drop and fireworks display at Jackson Square. The live broadcast will also include performances from the Allstate Fan Fest, part of the annual Allstate Sugar Bowl.

This year will be the first time the program will include a city in the Central Time Zone in its live countdown.

"Known for its vibrant culture and deep musical roots, New Orleans is the ideal choice to host our first-ever Central Time Zone countdown," Mike Mahan, president of Dick Clark Productions, said. "We are excited to expand our tradition of ringing in the New Year to the 'Big Easy.'"

Local performances have not been announced at the time of this post.
