CENTRAL – For four seasons, The Great Christmas Light Fight has highlighted families across the country for their Christmas light displays, but tonight it is the Hohensee family from Central in the spotlight.

The Hohensee family will compete against families from New York, Connecticut and Florida for the $50,000 prize.

James Hohensee said that the massive do-it-yourself project does not stop at the decorations.

"I hand built these machines which is computer controlled and it cuts the pattern into the design and we can take a pixel and actually insert it into those holes and we can take a pattern and install it into the software so we can produce the wonderful Christmas lights," Hohensee said.

Use of lights, overall designs and the Christmas spirit is the criteria the show uses to judge the light displays.

"No one has anything of like what we have. We are going to have the best Christmas spirit ever," Hohensee said.

Regardless of if the family takes away the big prize, Hohensee said the he has enjoyed the process.

"I have always liked the design, it's that whole process of how do you bring something to life and really make it unique," Hohensee said.

The family's light display won't be revealed until tonight when the show airs on Channel 2 at 7 p.m.
